THERE’S A LOT MORE RIDING ON METRO THAN PEOPLE.

THERE’S A LOT MORE RIDING ON METRO THAN PEOPLE.

THE NET-NET: A WIN-WIN.

Over the course of the last six decades, Metro Transit has not only witnessed the amazing transformation of our region, we’ve also performed an essential role in it.

Today, our organization remains proudly entrenched as the second-most valuable asset in the 618, 314, 636, 573 and 557 – second only to the 2.8 million residents we were established to serve. With team members living from Belleville to Ballwin and beyond, our organization exists to improve life for millions of our neighbors, friends and families.

Together, we’re moving our region forward and bringing the promise of our collective future home. In what continues to be a win-win scenario, our success will always be forever rooted in yours.

Let’s keep in touch.

“Convenient, affordable, and integrated public transit is a critical component in driving economic growth and improving the quality of life in the St. Louis region. Our future success relies on the strength of our transit system and in providing the community with access to affordable transportation.”

DRIVING DEVELOPMENT
AND REGIONAL PROGRESS.

Metro Transit represents the Law of Attraction in action. A positive force bringing positive results to our region and everyone living in it. Helping to attract employers like the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, projects such as the Cortex Innovation District, or professional sports teams like Major League Soccer’s 29th franchise – not to mention massive distribution centers and other significant employers on both sides of the river.

ANOTHER 10.2 BILLION REASONS.

If money talks, then listen up. Since 2011, more than $10.2 billion in commercial development has been announced, completed or is currently under construction within a half-mile radius of MetroLink stations. From biotech startups to local fashion pop-ups and everything in between, every day the entire Metro organization works to make our neighborhoods thrive – from St. Clair through St. Louis and into St. Louis County.

FYI: 5 to 1 ROI

The economic return produced by long-term investment in public transit is 5 to 1.

  • 87% of trips on transit directly benefit local economies
  • Half of transit trips are to and from work
  • 37% of transit trips are to shopping and recreational spending

“Schnucks Markets rely heavily on Metro Transit to get both customers and employees to our location for their jobs, groceries and pharmacy needs.”

EVERYONE NEEDS METRO.
NEED PROOF?

Just play “Three Degrees of Metro Transit.” It’s easy. First, consider all the things in your life that take place on a typical day. Next, count the ‘degrees’ between each happening and the fact that a Metro Transit customer or employee made it happen. (Spoiler alert: Three tends to be the result.) Need a few examples to get started? Grabbing your morning coffee. Getting a few groceries on the way home. Finding another online order delivered to your front door. Chatting with a friend or family member who used Call-A-Ride to run an errand. Even seeing your doctor for a physical or your pediatrician for a well-baby visit.

FUELING GROWTH.
USING LESS FUEL.

No offense to the beloved professional hockey, soccer and baseball teams who call this area home, but Metro Transit has fueled more personal, economic and regional growth since 1963 than all of them combined. Day in, day out, Metro Transit trains, electric buses and other vehicles carry thousands of individuals who also call this area home. In short, we’re everybody’s home team.

North. South. East. West. The Metro Transit organization remains focused on going forward via our unwavering commitment to continuous improvements such as our Secure Platform Plan (SPP). Currently being implemented across all 38 MetroLink stations, this state-of-the-art $52-million investment is the cornerstone of a multi-level strategy to enhance the transit experience for the 2.8 million customers.

THE METRO TRANSIT MISSION NEVER ENDS.

Day in, day out, we exist to not just get our fellow residents where they need to go, but get our entire region where it needs to be. As we go forward, don’t hesitate to stay in touch.
